To facilitate the publication and sharing of your webbook, we provide two levels of privacy settings:\n<ul>\n \t<li><strong>Global privacy setting:<\/strong> Allows you to choose whether your entire webbook is Private or Public<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Chapter-level privacy settings:<\/strong> Allows you to choose whether or not an individual chapter is displayed as part of the public webbook<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nEach of these settings controls if, when, and how your book is published to the web.\n<h1><a id=\"globalprivacysettings\" href=\"\"><\/a>Global Privacy Settings<\/h1>\n<div class=\"textbox shaded\"><strong>NOTE:\u00a0<\/strong>Pressbooks.pub users can only access global privacy settings for their webbook after <a href=\"https:\/\/pressbooks.pub\/guide\/chapter\/upgrade-your-pressbooks-com-book\/\">upgrading their book<\/a>.<\/div>\nThe global privacy setting affects whether or not readers can access your webbook's homepage. You can set your book\u2019s global privacy to private or public:\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Private<\/strong> books can only be viewed by the administrator of a book and users the administrator has added to the book. Setting a book\u2019s global privacy to private overrides chapter-level privacy settings (meaning that public chapters in a private book are treated as though they were private).<\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Public<\/strong> books can be viewed by anyone with the URL. This may be more convenient for users who are actively editing a chapter rather than modifying all chapter privacy settings at once.
